To be a boiler or a chiller
Whilst reviewing clients sites we had some alarms of suction temperatures over 40 degrees C (suction to the compressor) strange results, after looking in more detail found that the chilled water pumps were being kept in hand mode whilst the chiller was in auto. so the chiller turned off out of hours and the primary pumps kept running. The primary circuit is very short, the chiller is an air cooled with multiple scroll compressors. This weekend the water temperature peaked at 103 degrees C. Last night at 55 degrees C. My alarms were luckily set for the compressor suction so it picked it up as we dont usually set alarms for chilled water being too high - (we do now though)
